Join the Opticomm team at Uniti Group in an exciting, dynamic leadership role

About the Role:

As a Construction Manager at Opticomm, you will play a senior leadership role within our construction team, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) projects across diverse residential developments, including SDU, Lifestyle, and MDU communities. You will lead the State Delivery Manager and field teams, collaborating closely with Network Designers and the Headend delivery team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to shape and drive fibre rollout across Victoria and South Australia in a dynamic, fast-growing organisation.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure statewide project delivery with the Delivery Manager is on time, on budget, and meets design and delivery objectives
  • Integrate sales and delivery processes for seamless end-to-end handover, maintaining and enhancing reporting systems aligned with Dynamics
  • Drive process improvements at a state level to ensure consistency, best practice, and operational excellence
  • Grow, develop, and mentor the team while fostering a culture of accountability and continual improvement
  • Ensure engineering and operations works are completed and commissioned for timely network delivery, collaborating closely with the design team to meet construction deadlines
  • Partner with Sales and Construction Engineering Support to improve productivity, methods, and project management systems
  • Manage and support the state field team, including maintenance activities, field service quotes, and the management of network damages, stock, and cost recovery
  • Maintain local stock levels and ensure efficient warehouse operations
  • Drive a strong safety culture in line with WHS requirements, ensuring zero harm across all activities

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Telecommunications construction industry in a project management role
  • Formal qualifications in project management or leadership/management
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements relevant to project works
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and DC power fundamentals
  • Experience with RF – FTA / SAT systems
  • Experience with GPON networks, including pit and pipe, fibre, equipment, and components
  • Knowledge of IP networking
  • Experience in logistics management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including creating and updating Excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of project management processes, methods, and best practices
  • Understanding of building products, construction details, and relevant rules and regulations
  • Extensive experience across the full lifecycle of large telecommunications projects
