About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance, this role plays a key part in strengthening the organisation’s risk and compliance capability. You will work closely with business leaders to embed practical frameworks that support informed decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and internal policies.

Operating within the Three Lines of Defence model, you will partner with the business to identify, assess, and manage risks, implement effective controls, and provide guidance on regulatory requirements. The role also monitors risk decisions and delivers clear, timely reporting to senior leadership.

You will support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of risk management, compliance, and business continuity frameworks, helping to foster a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Act as a trusted business partner, providing guidance on risk and compliance.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and apply enterprise risk management frameworks (ISO 31000).
  • Provide second-line challenge and support robust risk and control practices.
  • Translate regulatory obligations into practical policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor compliance, support audits, and assist with regulatory interactions.
  • Maintain and improve risk registers, controls, and assurance frameworks.
  • Coach, guide, and train teams to enhance risk and compliance awareness.
  • Lead business continuity planning, training, and simulation exercises.
  • Manage incidents, breaches, and regulatory changes, driving corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Prepare insightful risk and compliance reporting and support governance committees.
  • Support continuous improvement of the risk management framework across all business units.
  • Track, validate, and report on remediation actions and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee compliance attestations and control testing cycles, addressing non-conformances.
  • Conduct third-party due diligence and manage related risk exposures.
  • Embed regulatory changes into the control environment and support business compliance readiness.

Essential Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in risk, governance, or a related discipline, or equivalent applied experience in operations, risk management, or business continuity.
  • Experience in operations, risk management, compliance, or assurance, preferably in telecommunications, technology, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience partnering with operational and technology teams to embed risk and compliance into day-to-day decision-making.
